Jeremy and his team have done their research and found that approximately 31% of U.S. fourth and eighth graders are reading at or above proficiency, making literacy a national crisis. We’ve found that low literacy often correlates with higher dropout rates, increased behavioral issues, and challenges in social-emotional learning. Students who struggle to read often feel disengaged, which can lead to discipline issues and lower overall school performance.
